I was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and graduated with a B-Tech in Fine Art from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 2009. I now live and work in the Garden Route. I have presented two solo shows and participated in several group exhibitions.
My work, in undulating watercolour, ink, embroidery, photography, and mixed media, explores colour, the female form, and the earth.
I embrace the unexpected changes that emerge through wet ink and intricate stitching.
My embroidery draws inspiration from the rich tradition of needlework, historically a vital form of creative expression for women, combining the meditative process of stitching with modern artistic exploration.
I'm deeply fascinated by the female body and our experiences in the world. Our sexuality, our identity, the way we perceive our own skin, blood and bones. Through self-portraiture and collaborations with photographers, I use my own body as both subject and medium, exploring identity from the inside out.
